Job Description Overview For more than 30 years, Vectrus, a V2X Inccompany, has been at the forefront of electromagnetic spectrum engineering and digital systems integration for clientsWe partner with our clients to solve some of their toughest operational challenges through the implementation of advanced technological solutionsLeveraging emerging technologies and adhering to a system engineering discipline, our engineers design, develop and integrate disparate data sources and devices to deliver converged environment solutionsAs a digital transformation leader, Vectrus provides smart (AI/ML enabled), cyber-secure (Zero Trust Architectures), and environmentally friendly (Energy efficient) solutions that broaden and enhance our clients' ecosystemsOur geographically distributed engineers and DevOps teams engage using industry leading platforms, tools, and practices in a mixture of live and virtual collaborationsThere is an immediate opening for a full-time Engineering Specialist at our Dahlgren, Virginia officeThis individual will be a member of a team responsible for providing technical support for the installation, maintenance, removal, and documentation of Radar Absorbent Material (RAM) for shipboard EMI mitigationResponsibilities Responsible for the installation, replacement, maintenance, and disposal of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Radar Absorbent Material (RAM) aboard US Navy ships worldwide Use various hand tools and power tools, such as drills, impact wrenches, and saws to perform RAM work Painting and caulking of RAM requiring skills similar to a Marine Painter Travel to US Navy ports worldwide to accomplish shipboard RAM work Construct wooden shipping crates for RAM barriers Must be able to work in a shipboard construction environment, to include working aloftThe employee will normally work in a non-temperature-controlled shipboard environment, with frequent exposure to extreme cold or hot weather conditionsAn employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noiseThe employee may be required to work on shipboard superstructures more than 100 feet above waterWhile not on travel, this position is located full-time on-site at V2X's Dahlgren office located in King George, VA in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD)This role requires frequent travel 50% of the time or greaterPotential to be on travel at a government site (CONUS and OCONUS) and/or dockside on US Navy ships for 7-14 days for RAM installation or maintenance eventsQualifications Education / Certifications:
o High School Diploma or equivalent experience o OSHA 10 certification required or willing to obtain
Experience:
o Specific experience in the area of shipboard fabrication, installation and maintenance is requiredo Marine Painting and Shipyard operations experience is preferredClearance Requirement:
