Bowhead is looking for a Senior Systems Security Engineer to provide Information Assurance (IA) support to the NSWCDD Information Assurance Manager for DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) certification and accreditation (C&A) package and artifact review in eMASS; assist department Information Assurance Officers and C&A packages developers with requirements analysis, security test and evaluation plans and execution, risk assessments, incident response and policy analysis, IA program assessments, and security posture presentations as requested. Knowledgeable of system security on UNIX, Windows 2K3, 7, 2K8 systems, network devices (firewalls, routers, and switches), web servers and database applications. Review submitted System Security Plans (SSP) and/or Concept of Network Operations Plans (CONOP) documentation for compliance with the DIACAP. Apply knowledge of technology, analyze the security implications of systems and applications security, and provide recommendations to decision-makers and engineers. Work with team members to provide advice and assistance to facilitate certification and accreditation efforts. Strong oral/written communication and customer interface skills a necessity.
Required Skills
Knowledgeable in DoD security and IA requirements as outlined in DoDI 8500.2 and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG).
Current knowledge of DoD Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) policies and standards is preferred.
Experience with DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).
Experience with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) or managing DoD and DoN IA Portfolios.
Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Managerial Level II certification requirements at time of employment; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (preferred) or SANS GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

DESIRED SKILLS:
System administration/configuration experience in the any Windows, UNIX, Linux, or Network device is desired.
Fully qualified Navy Validator
SECURITY CLEARANCE:Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level.
Required Experience
Must have a Bachelor''s degree in an appropriate scientific, engineering, or computer related discipline from an accredited institution and eight years of experience in systems design, development and integration (Twelve (12) years of relevant experience may be substituted).
Candidates must follow all company Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program Requirements.
