Bowhead is seeking a Structural Engineer with experience conducting Finite Element Analysis to support the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Surface Warfare (SUW) Mission Package (MP) Surface-to-Surface Mission Module (SSMM) Engineering Development Model (EDM). This position is located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). The engineer will work as a member of the SSMM Mechanical Design team. As a member of the group, duties will include:
Working with the mechanical designers to ensure that all designs meet all structural requirements.
Conducting finite element analyses of load bearing mission module components and test fixtures.
Assisting the instrumentation team with placement of gauges to ensure that critical data is collected.
Development of complete documentation for all products, including white papers and reports.
Preparing and/or presenting briefing materials for reviews and related events to team members, contractors, management, and/or sponsors.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Must be able to conduct hand calculations of stress in structural members.
Must be able to build finite element models using solid, shells, and beam elements.
Must be able to conduct static, modal, and dynamic analyses (transient and spectrum analysis) and interpret results with little supervision and in a reasonable amount of time.
Desired Skills:
Experience with ANSYS (Workbench and APDL) and/or LS-Dyna. Fortran, C, C++, Matlab or other programming language skills.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:Must be able to obtain a clearance at the SECRET level.
Required Experience
Bachelor''s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Applied Physics and5
years with experience with ANSYS or LS-Dyna. 8
years with no experience with ANSYS or LS-Dyna but experience with other finite element tools.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
