We have an exciting opportunity for a AIX IT Certified Specialist to join our team. The majority of the computers that the client's team is responsible for are IBM Power Servers running AIX and Oracle. The operational system has 4 P7 795 Systems running multiple partitions performing compute and database functions, a mix of mid-size pSeries and Power servers for supporting functions, and approximately 80 end-user pSeries workstations.
Breakdown of Job Duties:
40% AIX operating System Support / scripting
25% Installation and Configuration
20% System performance analysis
15 % Support testing
Key
Responsibilities:
Provide System Analyst skills for integration and software technical support for the operational system.
Handle system daily administration tasks, system upgrades, support for customer deliveries of application software, and any technical problems as they occur on a 24x7 basis.
Provide services that also covers sustainability services.
Customize and integrate developed applications software into a distributed and highly available network.
Customize shell scripts to support system operation and management;
Integrate operating system specific applications program interfaces into mission applications
Custom configuration of operating systems components to accommodate routine maintenance of redundant systems and special operating requirements identified during the integration process.
Participate in the design and integration planning for new additions and changes.
Configure and administer Cisco Nexus switch/routers, Cisco SAN fiber channel switches and SVC/SIV/V7000 storage primarily using NPIV
Redhat Linux usages is expanding in this account, some of which is the team's responsibility as well.
Analyze operational requirement specifications for impacts to current network performance
Develop and provide maintenance procedures for all activities required to sustain the Processing System for which you are responsible
Required Experience/Skills:
6 or more years of experience on current IBM hardware platforms to include:
AIX operating system familiarity and experience with shell scripting
IBM hardware installation and configuration experience
Analyze Processing System performance to locate deficiencies in operation and performance of the current system
Test experience
A Government recognized Information Assurance certification.Recognized certifications include but are not limited to A+-CE, Network
CE, SSCP, CCNA, CISSP etc.
Preferred/Desired Skills:
Limited familiarity with the C+
programming language
Limited Information Assurance Support experience
