SUMMARY
Works directly with the Government personnel in meeting the administrative needs of the project and its staff. The position is covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA). This position supports CXPE EEO-HR at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative/clerical support roles.
Answering the telephone, typing/word processing of documents, maintaining calendars and setting up meetings, making travel arrangements, copying, faxing, greeting visitors, setting up files, tracking expenses, and coordinating building and equipment maintenance.
Some work is completed without established procedures.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties as assigned.
May require occasional travel.
Required Skills
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
One (1) year experience.
Verifiable experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Dictation is a plus.
Active Secret Clearance Preferred or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
In addition to routine administrative office related work and basic receptionist skills, the following additional skills would be desirable in the successful candidate.
Intermediate grammatical skills ? spelling, punctuation, formatting to preparing outgoing correspondence using EEOC templates and Department of the Navy (DON) Correspondence manual.
Organizational skills - required to maintain office files per DON Records Management manual.
Confidentiality ? to assist with copying of complaint files, training materials, handling personnel coming in with potential complaints, phone calls.
Excel skills ? requirement to maintain monthly demographic charts and pivot tables by RNO (race, national origin), gender, targeted disabilities, current workforce accessions, separations and high grades, awards and training.
The ability to multitask while understanding the sensitive and confidential nature of all EEO office work.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to work in a support role supporting senior management and team
Ability to make travel arrangements, expense reports, schedule meetings and maintain calendars
Ability to develop effective working relationships across all organizational lines
Ability to handle information of a highly sensitive and confidential nature
Ability to prioritize and organize own work to meet agreed upon deadlines.
Ability to work with others as part of a team

Additional Qualifying Factors:
As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Must have or be eligible for security clearances. May require occasional travel.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
