Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineer to apply knowledge of applicable principles for the integration of new/upgraded C4I, Warfare, Mission and Aviation systems on new construction and in-service navy ships to develop an Integrated Topside Design (ITD).
The selected candidate must be knowledgeable in the NAVSEA Topside Design and Integration process for surface ships in the areas of ship missions, sensor and weapon system performance and requirements. The candidate will be required to analyze options that optimize the topside design and ensure electromagnetic and war fighting compatibility is optimized with the addition of new or upgraded systems. The candidate will apply topside design principles along with appropriate commercial and military specifications, standards, and instructions. The candidate must have the requisite experience in ITD to provide critical guidance to topside engineers and CAD modelers in the development of 3D topside ship models and the required content of 2D contractual topside drawings. Experience with ship construction and installation activities and the ability to develop solutions to technical issues, review change proposals, and waiver requests is necessary.
The candidate must be familiar with the NAVY?s ship design and acquisition process and with the NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holder (TWH) structure. This position requires the candidate to anticipate future fleet needs and investigate the application of new technologies and approaches to overcome current limitations; work closely with Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and other DOD program offices, NAVSEA 05 TWHs, sponsors, the fleet, laboratories, port engineers, contractors, and ship builders; and develop task schedules/plans and manage those tasks and plans within time and budget constraints and provide recommendations for managing and allocating appropriate technical and personnel assets. The selected candidate will have direct customer interface and communication when working on site or offsite.
Daily duties of the selected candidate include:
+ Providing technical program support.
+ Direct customer daily interface and communication.
+ Ensuring high-quality consolidated monthly progress reports summarizing technical work performed by the group.
+ Occasional travel is required, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area for meetings. There is also the potential for travel to naval and private shipyards and as well as other Naval Facilities.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related scientific field.
+ Minimum of 25 years of experience in Topside Design and Naval Ship Design.
+ Familiarity with Navy shipboard protocol.
+ Strong communication and analytical skills required.

+ Must hold an Active Secret clearance to be considered.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
