Linux Systems Administrator

LINUX ADMINISTRATOR (E03-18-1284-F) Bowhead seeks a Linux Administrator in Dahlgren, VA. The Linux Administrator's responsibilities include system administration and customer support of servers, workstations, and network switches in a Research, Development, and Testing, and Engineering (RDT&E) tactical environment. Must demonstrate experience in Linux and Window system administration and will be expected to provide technical problem solving and in-depth consulting for problems involving system operations. As the Linux Admin, you will work closely with scientists and engineers to help them use workstations and servers to solve their computationally intensive problems and make required code development changes in a tactical environment that is also deployed to the Warfighter. Essential duties for the Linux Admin may include: o Management of servers, end-user workstations in both a private and Internet connected network environment. o Analysis, design, and implementation of modifications to the system software in order to improve system performance, correct errors, or fulfill specific needs to manage developer code repository and tactical baseline configurations. o Linux Admin will provide daily antivirus and malware support, system backup and recovery, and patch/remediation for vulnerability management. o Linux Admin participates in planning new hardware acquisitions, developing operating policy, interacting with vendors, educating customers, and communicating and collaborating with other projects within the organization. o Work with ISSO as a means to obtain and sustain system C&A as required by DoN. Requirements o Bachelor's degree and five to eight (5-8) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and administration of stand-alone computer systems, local area networks (LANs), and/or wide area networks (WANs). o Must demonstrate ability to interface effectively with US Navy personnel to develop and support technical positions and to justify technical recommendations. o Familiarity with the Department of Defense networking and security accreditation requirements is highly desired, such as Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for various Operating Systems and software, Data-at-Rest (DAR) drive encryption, and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP). o Experience managing Linux Software RAID (device creation, monitoring, replacing failed disks, nested RAID levels) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices highly desired. o Must have experience with writing and debugging UNIX/Linux shell scripts, or familiarity with languages such as Python or Perl for purposes of task automation and system monitoring. o Demonstrate strong system administration of Linux-based workstations with expertise in RedHat Enterprise Linux. o CentOS and Scientific Linux would be acceptable as RedHat Enterprise Linux skills. o The ability to manage a Yum/RPM patch management server is required. Experience with the following technologies/capabilities is a plus: o Kickstart/Anaconda; SSH; Samba/NFS; Software versioning/Source Code Control System/Continuous Integration Administration (git/gitlab/TRAC/jenkins); Build Environment Support - GCC/GNU Make/Java; Access Control Lists (ACL); Disk Quotas; and LUKS disk encryption. o Cisco Switch management with network troubleshooting skills and support include working knowledge of tcpdump, iptraf, and netstat along with usage of tcp-wrappers and iptables. o The ability to secure an operating system following the DISA STIGS is highly desirable. o Demonstrated experience working in an environment with rapidly changing job priorities is necessary. o Demonstrated experience managing the installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure is desirable. o Required certifications: CompTIA Security+, CCNA-Security, or GSEC. Examples of certifications that would be a plus; but not specifically required Linux+ or MCITP and CISSP. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must hold have an active security clearance at the Secret level and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Secret clearance at this location. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
