IT SPECIALIST (SECURITY)

This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring Information Assurance (IA) requirements are incorporated in all requests, implementing current DOD accreditation/authorization processes, while developing all necessary artifacts on key components of the Missile Defense System. This position is being filled under DoD Modified Direct Hire Authority, Section 1109; PL, 116-92, dated 12/20/2019 . As an IT SPECIALIST (SECURITY) at the NH-2210-4 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Ensures IA requirements are incorporated in all requests, implementing current DOD accreditation/authorization processes, while developing all necessary artifacts on key components of the Missile Defense System (MDS). IAW DoDI 8510.1, 8500.2 and Agency policy and procedures, ensures the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of systems, networks, and data. Implement current DoD accreditation/authorization process and develop all necessary artifacts (SIP, DIP, POA&M and Scorecard) on key components of the MDS weapon system and associated Test networks within the Agency element. Plans, resources, and executes Information Assurance/Computer Network Defense (IA/CND) requirements for MDA networks and systems. Responsible for ensuring IA requirements are incorporated in all Request For Proposals, Statements of Work, and reviews Work Breakdown Structure and Basis of Estimates. Advises the Program Manager and key staff as required on emerging Information Assurance Technology and changes to the IA program requirements. Qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Ensuring Information Assurance (IA) requirements are incorporated in all requests, implementing current accreditation/authorization processes, while developing all necessary artifacts on key components of a major weapon system. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210, series as listed below:
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. All individuals must have IT related experience that demonstrates each of these four competencies:
1) Attention to detail - Ensuring statement of work for procurement of products and service, technical documents, troubleshooting of Information Technology problems are complete, free of error, and uses sound technical judgment. 2) Customer Service - Analyzing, defining, and delivering Information Technology support to organizations, and identifying problems with customer requests in order to achieve the desired product or service. 3) Oral communication - Presenting technical information to non-technicians in order to achieve understanding of desired specification or solutions to problems. 4)Problem Solving - Diagnosis of issues for organizational or installation wide integrated Information Technology systems for compatibility of new technology, capacity issues, or ensure IT systems continue to meet changing mission requirements.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
